Continuous support after Pride month

Have you ever wondered how to support the LGBTQ+ community after pride month when every company has reverted back to “normal”? Cool. I have some businesses that are owned by the LGBTQ+ community that cater to different individuals and their needs. As a disclaimer, I am not getting any type of commission for writing about these companies. All thoughts are my own

Northwest Press

Books, books, and more books. Northwest Press is a publishing company that is dedicating in publishing “the best lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender comics collections and graphic novels and celebrating the LGBT comics community,” according to their about page.

Some of the comics that they have published include Anything That Loves, The Big Book of Bisexual Trials and Errors, and I Love You, You Big Weirdo.

This company is queer owned and according to their about page, was founded in 2012 and is described as “a store and a gathering, workshop and event space.” They sell various things like clothing, journals, apothecary, and reusable wares.

Some of their values include dedication to fair wages and labor practices, making sure that exploitation and destruction do not define their chain of production and eliminating products that have single use plastics.

These were only a couple of businesses that were spotlighted but I’m thinking about making this a series on my blog. If you know of any queer owned businesses, let me know in the comments below.
