Nintendo Direct 09.04.2019

By the time you read this, the Nintendo Direct has already happened. There were two games that I am truly excited for that were presented in the Nintendo Direct and that is Overwatch and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This is the second Nintendo Direct that we have gotten in 2019 and with each one, we get a little bit more information about our favorite games. I did not watch all of the stream but what I did catch made me very hopeful. The Nintendo Direct stream will be below if you want to watch it.

Overwatch Trailer (Switch)

What excites me more about this game is that now, it’s portable and on the go. The experience that I have had with this game has been on the PlayStation 4 and X-Box console. This was one of the first trailers that premiered during the Nintendo Direct. I also hope that the graphics are good. Even though graphics tend to be alright on the Switch because of the size of the console. Sometimes, the quality is very noticeable. I definitely want to compare the game from the Switch to the PS4.

Release date is October 15, 2019.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Since the previous Nintendo Direct, we knew that this game is going to come out on March 20, 2020. This trailer is a little more game play and insight to the world. We can see more details in the everyday world What boggles my mind is how good the graphics look. I am super excited to play this game and to play it on my television.

Release date: March 20, 2020

Honorable mentions

A game that seems pretty interesting is Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise. The premise is pretty interesting. There is a detective that opens an old serial killer case but it seems like there is also a paranormal twist. It seems like the game is going to feature past and present story lines. The past happens 14 years previously in New Orleans. The main characters name is Francis York Morgan.

Doom 64 is also interesting. I currently have Doom on the Switch and the PS4. Usually, when I feel like having a change of scenery from Overwatch, I will play this. It is challenging sometimes because I am not use to playing this game but it is enjoyable. It seems like it’s a remastered version of the previous game that was on the Nintendo 64.

This year, it seems like Nintendo is also focusing on their online games as well. A lot of their newer games feature the online option. For $20 a year, you’re able to have online capabilities. With that being said, there are certain games that you are able to play if you decide to purchase the online pass. Those games include:

  • Super Mario Kart

  • Kirby’s Dream House

  • Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island

  • F-Zero

  • The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

  • Star Fox

  • Super Mario World

  • Stunt Race FX

  • Tetris
