Nintendo Switch Lite

It is Wednesday and there is a new post on coffeelant. It was recently announced that there is going to be a Lite rendition to the Nintendo Switch. It is set to release on September 20, 2019.

Nintendo is trying to lean towards the handheld aspect of the Switch; which is why it is not including a kickstand for the Switch Lite and it is not going to be dock-able like its predecessor according to Time. Unlike the Switch that we have come to know and love with the colorful Joy-Cons and black screen, the new Nintendo Switch Lite is full of color.

The screen is also smaller on the Switch Lite and it is going to be at 5.5” whereas the Switch is at 6.2”. It won’t be a drastic difference but I’m sure it’ll be more noticeable if both consoles are put side to side. The Lite also has better battery life that is “ranging from three to seven hours of play,” according to Polygon.

There are three colors that are being released for the Switch Lite: yellow, gray, and turquoise. There is also going to be a Pokemon rendition that is going to be released in November. Truthfully, I really enjoy the Pokemon rendition of the Switch Lite but I also want the yellow as well.

When I initially heard about there being an updated Nintendo Switch, I was kind of excited and now that the specs are out, I am even more excited. One of the things that I am not a fan of with the Switch is the battery life. I noticed early on that it wasn’t the greatest so I am excited that with the Switch Lite, the battery life is better. I might be using it to play a lot of Animal Crossing once it comes out but we’ll see.
