Phase 4 of Marvel

On Saturday, July 20, 2019, Marvel announced several projects that are going to be coming out in the next few years. This next phase is going to be phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I am super stoked about this new phase!

Projects

Some movies and shows that will be coming out in the next few years are Black Widow, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, The Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, WandaVision, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse Madness, Loki, What If…?, Hawkeye, and Thor: Love and Thunder.

I am honestly very excited about this new phase in Marvel. I’m also excited that there are a lot more women being the “face” of Marvel as well. In phase three, the only female lead movie we got was Captain Marvel. Also, in Avengers: Endgame, we got this very powerful female scene towards the end of the movie and it was phenomenal.

With phase four, we are getting a Black Widow movie and we also have a Thor movie where Natalie Portman will be the new Thor and she will be reprising her role as Jane Foster. We also have Valkyrie being the first openly LGBTQ+ character in the MCU. Truthfully, I’m super excited for Valkyrie because she is just so bad-ass and I really like that she wasn’t overly sexualized in the movies.

Disney+

Now that Disney owns Marvel, all of the Marvel movies will go to that platform when it is released on November 12, 2019. My girlfriend and I were talking about paying for this service since we’re both fans of Disney. She loves watching The Lion King and Toy Story.

All in all, I am definitely very excited for this next phase of Marvel and I do hope that we get even more movies as good as the Avengers: Endgame.
